Outdoor Kids Portraits
After many days of gloomy skies we can finally feel that a real Springtime growth spurt about to explode.
I want to share with you this morning one of my sessions from a couple of years ago. It took me a while to photograph all these beautiful cousins in groups and individually and even though I was exhausted afterwards :) I was so very pleased to know that everybody enjoyed their pictures being taken and they all loved their portraits. Now this is the best reward a photographer can hope for! I look at these images today and I’m trying to think why it was a successful and very joyful session and the only reason I can come up with is because I haven’t intervene. The secret to take a good portrait of a child is just let them play and be themselves. I remember myself being a kid and I, too, approached life with spontaneity and amazement, as though it were a wonder to behold. I see this everyday through my son and I am trying to rejoice life with him. It is so easy for us adults to forget the joy of childhood and so hard to reclaim it … so with this in mind I want to invite you all to laugh more, to play more and to enjoy the Spring!
