Berks & Bucks Your Wedding

We’re delighted to share that Lucy and David’s beautiful Windsor wedding, captured in early autumn 2009, has been featured in the June–July issue of Berks & Bucks Your Wedding! This magazine is a must-read for brides-to-be looking for inspiration for their dream day.

The Proposal
Dave planned a perfect proposal. “The day before, he suggested I buy a new dress for lunch,” says Lucy. “I knew what he was up to! The next day, I was picked up in a Bentley and taken to Eton Bridge, where Dave was waiting. He got down on one knee and proposed, then took me for lunch at The Sir Christopher Wren’s House Hotel.”

Chapel Chic
Lucy always dreamed of getting married at Windsor Parish Church. “It’s beautiful and very special to me and my family,” she says. The reception followed at the 19th-century chapel at Beaumont Estate. “I loved it immediately. The staff went out of their way to make our day perfect—nothing was too much effort.”

Fit for a Princess
Although Lucy loves big, puffy princess dresses, she knew they wouldn’t suit her petite frame. After trying on just three gowns, she found the one. “It felt perfect—I didn’t want to take it off. The bridal shop staff were brilliant, friendly, and honest—exactly what every bride needs!”

Bring on the Glitz
The couple chose a stunning five-tier cake made of chocolate sponge and fruit cake, encrusted with Swarovski crystals and decorated with sugar flowers to match Lucy’s bouquet and the bridesmaids’ dresses. “It was the best cake I’ve ever tasted!” Lucy recalls.

Stylish Wedding Photography
Lucy and David wanted fun, contemporary wedding images. “We loved Kristina’s artistic style at IMAGINARIUM. Our pre-wedding shoot helped us feel completely at ease, and everyone who sees our wedding photos comments on how brilliant they are!”

The Honeymoon
For their two-week honeymoon, the couple chose the Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort in Jamaica. “We loved relaxing on the beach, and the highlight was climbing Dunn’s River Falls—an amazing experience we’d highly recommend,” says Lucy.
