Packaging the Wedding Album

Live * Laugh * Love

This morning, I found myself wrapping and packing the latest wedding albums for my clients — one of my favourite tasks. It almost feels like the Christmas season is still going! 🎁

I love opening a freshly printed album, carefully inspecting every page, every tone, and every layout composition from the design process. For a long time, I sent albums the way they arrived from the lab — with simple safety pads on the corners and plain cardboard envelopes. I thought safety was the most important element. Honestly, I was worried about damage in the post and dreaded the re-printing fees.

Over time, I realized that safety doesn’t have to mean boring. With a little creativity, the entire presentation could feel warm, personal, and beautifully curated.

Many wedding photographers focus heavily on visual branding, from business cards to packaging. I do too — but in a minimal, thoughtful way. For my wedding albums, I invested in a few key touches to make the presentation cozy and personal: ribbons, shredded red paper, and natural craft gift boxes. These elements complement my photography style and colour palette, consistent with my website and printed stationery.

The feedback from my clients has been priceless. If you’re just starting out as a wedding photographer, don’t feel pressured to spend a fortune on custom printed boxes, stickers, or USBs. Instead, get creative and add a personal touch. Your clients will not necessarily appreciate seeing your logo everywhere, but presenting their albums in a warm and thoughtful way will leave a lasting impression — and that’s what truly matters. 💛
