Sherborne Castle
Katie and Paul tied the knot at the stunning Sherborne Castle, a venue full of history, elegance, and picturesque surroundings — a perfect backdrop for their wedding day. 💛
May your marriage be filled with all the right ingredients: a heap of love, a dash of humour, a touch of romance, and a spoonful of understanding. May your joy last forever. Congratulations to Mr & Mrs!

The red car was such a fantastic detail—what’s the story behind it?
From the start, Paul was determined to drive us to the wedding reception himself—he didn’t want to be chauffeur-driven like many vintage cars usually are. We wanted a car from the 1950s or 1960s, which, unbeknownst to Paul, matched my vintage dress perfectly.
The idea for the London Routemaster bus came first. I’m originally from London and wanted to include a nod to the city. We even chose the number 137, which was the bus my bridesmaid and I took to school every day. By happy coincidence, the car was red too, matching the bus perfectly—it all came together so seamlessly!

The décor and overall feel of your wedding was so cosy, warm, and welcoming—how did you come up with this idea?
We wanted our wedding to feel personal and reflect who we are. We didn’t want an off-the-shelf event where the venue handles everything—we wanted to plan and arrange every aspect ourselves. Paul was equally involved, so it became a true joint project. Although it was a lot of hard work, we really enjoyed the process.
We wanted the wedding to suit the feel of Sherborne Castle and Dorset, so we went for an English country wedding with a vintage vibe. Being the year of the Diamond Jubilee and the London Olympics was a bonus—it inspired homemade bunting (thanks to my mum!) and quirky mismatched chintzy crockery. We wanted to keep it fun and relaxed, not too serious.
It’s easy to get carried away thinking about what a wedding “should” be, but the key is making it personal and reflecting who you are. Handmade touches make the day unique and add to the joy of planning.
What was important for you when choosing a wedding photographer?
There were several local photographers in Dorset, but their styles just didn’t appeal to us. We wanted to avoid overly posed group shots and instead capture natural moments—people relaxed and enjoying themselves, often when they didn’t even realize the photographer was there. A friend recommended Imaginarium, and as soon as we saw their photos on the website, we knew this was exactly the style we were looking for.

The seating chart was amazing—please tell us more.
Our seating chart came together quite organically. While walking around Hatfield House, we spotted a birdcage frame in a gift shop. As we considered how we could repurpose it after the wedding, Paul suggested placing a vintage bird print behind it to hang on a wall. We loved the print so much that it became part of the wedding décor.
Deciding on table names took a while, but in the end, we chose our favorite pubs—the ones where we had shared many memorable moments with our guests over the years. It felt personal and added a fun, nostalgic touch to the day.
